# America's War for the Greater Middle East Subtitle: *A Military History*. Bacevich's synthesis: the United States has been fighting a single continuous war in the greater Middle East since roughly 1980, and treating its campaigns — Iran, Lebanon, [[Libya]], the [[Gulf War]], the Balkans, [[Afghanistan War]], [[Iraq War]] — as discrete episodes is the error that keeps the war going. The book is the historical spine underneath [[Forever Wars]]. ## See Also - [[Andrew Bacevich]] — the author - [[Militarism]] · [[Forever Wars]] · [[Military-Industrial Complex]] [[Works Hub]]
