# Election Official Legal Defense Network
Bipartisan network founded in 2021 by Bob Bauer (Obama White House counsel) and [[Ben Ginsberg]] (longtime Republican election lawyer) that connects election officials facing threats, harassment, and retaliatory legal action with pro bono counsel. EOLDN is the legal profession's institutional answer to the post-2020 intimidation campaign against election administrators — the wave of death threats, doxxing, and politically motivated investigations that has driven experienced officials out of the field in battleground states.
The organization's design mirrors its founders' earlier collaboration on the bipartisan Presidential Commission on Election Administration (2013–14): pair the two parties' most credentialed election lawyers so that defending the people who run elections cannot be framed as a partisan project.
Fits the [[Legal Strategy as Movement Infrastructure]] pattern — a durability-layer institution protecting the administrative substrate elections run on, upstream of any individual cycle. See the [[Battleground Election Officials Hub]] for the officials this infrastructure exists to protect.
