# EarthRights International
Nonprofit litigation organization combining human rights and environmental law, founded 1995. Represents the plaintiffs in [[Boulder County v. Suncor Energy]] — the climate liability case the Supreme Court took up on 23 February 2026.
ERI sits at the litigation end of the [[Climate Accountability Movement]], alongside [[Earthjustice]], and brings a distinct lineage: its earlier work established corporate-accountability precedents under the Alien Tort Statute, which is a different doctrinal route to the same target — holding companies answerable for conduct they have structured to be nobody's legal responsibility.
