# Donald Trump — "there will be nothing like it anywhere in the World" > [!quote] "When completed, there will be nothing like it anywhere in the World!" > — Donald Trump, Truth Social, July 2026 ## Context Trump posted the boast alongside pictures of the **Corinthian columns** he selected for his proposed White House ballroom — the same ornate column order a Trump appointee to the [[Commission of Fine Arts]] had urged installing on the White House **North Portico** in place of its historic Ionic columns. The line captures the self-aggrandizing register of the administration's physical remaking of the White House, tracked on the [[White House Ballroom Project]] page: public architecture reframed as a personal monument. It ran in Heather Cox Richardson's July 10, 2026 letter as the counterpoint to reporting that the North Portico had been draped in scaffolding and its entrance fortified.
