# Planned Parenthood v. Casey *Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey*, 505 U.S. 833, decided June 29, 1992, reaffirmed the core of [[Roe v. Wade]] while replacing its trimester framework with an "undue burden" test that allowed states to regulate abortion before viability, upholding most of Pennsylvania's restrictions. The Supreme Court overruled it, together with *Roe*, in [[Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization]] (2022).
