The lawsuit by federal-employee unions and nonprofit groups over the February 2025 mass firing of probationary workers, the [[Valentine's Day Massacre (2025)]]. Judge [[William Alsup]] in San Francisco ordered six departments to offer reinstatement on March 13, 2025. On April 8, 2025, the Supreme Court stayed that order in an unsigned ruling, holding that the nonprofit plaintiffs lacked standing, with Justices Sotomayor and Jackson dissenting.
