The suit by 19 states and the District of Columbia over the February 2025 mass firing of probationary federal workers, the [[Valentine's Day Massacre (2025)]]. The states argued the firings were a [[Reduction in Force]] in all but name, carried out without the advance notice states are owed before mass layoffs. Judge James Bredar agreed in March 2025 and ordered reinstatement at 18 agencies.
