# Executive Order 14407
**Title:** Realigning United States Core Childhood Vaccine Recommendations With Best Practices From Peer, Developed Countries
Signed May 29, 2026. The second of three instruments in the administration's childhood-vaccine sequence, following the Presidential Memorandum of December 5, 2025 that ordered an HHS scientific assessment. EO 14407 committed the federal government to acting on that assessment and framed the effort in terms of religious liberty and parental authority.
Its implementation stalled. [[Executive Order 14420]] of August 10, 2026 states that action under the earlier directives "has been delayed due to litigation over the composition of the [[ACIP]] and separate updates to the Federal vaccine schedule" — and then declares the recommendations directly, bypassing the advisory committee whose composition was under challenge.
