# Administration of Justice
**OMB budget function 750** — the federal law-enforcement, litigation, courts, and
corrections budget, and, crucially, the **home of immigration and border
enforcement**. **~$85.2B in FY2025** (roughly flat vs FY2024's $85.0B, up from $72B in
FY2022) — but the function poised to grow the fastest of all, because it is where the
second Trump administration's mass-deportation program is funded.
## What's in it
- **Federal law enforcement** — FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, and
**Customs and Border Protection (CBP)** and **Immigration and Customs Enforcement
(ICE)** border/interior enforcement.
- **Federal litigation & judicial** — the [[Department of Justice]]'s litigating
divisions and the federal court system.
- **Federal corrections** — the Bureau of Prisons and detention.
- **Criminal-justice assistance** — grants to state and local law enforcement.
## The RWKB angle
Function 750 is where **"law and order" and "border security" stop being slogans and
become dollars** — and it is about to balloon. The [[Big Beautiful Bill]] (2025)
appropriated tens of billions in new immigration-enforcement money (ICE detention,
CBP hiring, border-wall construction), so the FY2026–FY2027 750 line will surge well
above its historical ~$85B. This is the mirror image of the [[International Affairs]]
story: the same budget that cut foreign aid to near-nothing is pouring money into
enforcement. It is also the clearest case of spending as **ideological signal** —
the growth here is a policy choice, not an entitlement formula. Watch the FY2026
actuals (a tracked [[Budget Hub]] item) for the first full measure of the
enforcement build-out.
