# Yunus-Bek Yevkurov
**Yunus-Bek Yevkurov** (born 1963) is the Russian Deputy Defence Minister who took apart [[Yevgeny Prigozhin]]'s empire for the state. After the [[Wagner Group Mutiny]] he toured Wagner's client governments to tell them Moscow was taking over, oversaw the creation of [[Africa Corps]], and went after Wagner's Syrian oil business. He is the political face of Russia's state security business in Africa; GRU general [[Andrey Averyanov]] reportedly handles the military side.
