# Yoon Suk Yeol **Yoon Suk Yeol** is a former prosecutor and the conservative president of [[South Korea]] (2022–2025) who declared [[Martial Law]] on 3 December 2024. He was impeached, then removed by a unanimous Constitutional Court on 4 April 2025. On 19 February 2026 a Seoul court convicted him of leading an insurrection and sentenced him to life in prison; he is appealing.
