# Warren Petersen **Warren Petersen** is the Republican President of the Arizona Senate, a post he has held since 2023, and the party's 2026 nominee for attorney general. He won the July 21, 2026 primary over former Tucson councilman Rodney Glassman and faces the incumbent, [[Kris Mayes]], on November 3. States Newsroom reported that if he wins, he is unlikely to revive the state's dismissed prosecution of the 2020 [[Fake Electors Scheme]]. As Senate Judiciary chairman in 2021, Petersen received the [[Cyber Ninjas]] auditors' July 2021 briefing on the [[2021 Maricopa County Presidential Ballot Audit]] alongside Senate President [[Karen Fann]]. At that briefing, CEO [[Doug Logan]] claimed that 74,000 votes had no matching ballot request. The final report called that claim "unintentionally misleading." ## See Also - [[Kris Mayes]] · [[2026 Key State Races Hub]] · [[Fake Electors Scheme]]
