# Tim O'Hare Republican County Judge of [[Tarrant County]], Texas — the countywide-elected presiding officer of the five-member Commissioners Court — since 2023. As County Judge he chairs the body that in September 2026 voted 3-2 to eliminate 92 Election Day polling sites before the midterm election. ## Before Tarrant County O'Hare was mayor of Farmers Branch, a Dallas suburb, from 2008 to 2011, where he became nationally known for pushing local ordinances barring landlords from renting to unauthorized immigrants — measures that drew years of federal litigation. He later chaired the Tarrant County Republican Party from 2016 to 2018 before winning the County Judge race in 2022. ## Polling site reduction O'Hare presided over the eight-hour September 1, 2026 meeting at which the court's Republican majority cut the county from 316 Election Day polling sites to 224 and early voting sites from 50 to 47. An exchange in which he declined to make eye contact with a constituent addressing him circulated widely afterward. Full detail at [[Tarrant County Polling Site Reduction]]. ## November 2026 O'Hare is on the ballot for re-election as County Judge in November 2026, challenged by Democratic commissioner [[Alisa Simmons]] — one of the two votes against the polling site cuts. ## See also - [[Tarrant County]] - [[Tarrant County Polling Site Reduction]] - [[Alisa Simmons]]
