# Terry Doughty
Chief U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana, appointed by [[Donald Trump]] in 2017. In Missouri v. Biden (2023) he issued a sweeping injunction barring federal officials from contacting social-media companies about content moderation — an order the Supreme Court later narrowed on standing grounds in Murthy v. Missouri, but which became a centerpiece of the right's 'censorship-industrial-complex' argument.
