# Stephen Richer Republican Recorder of Maricopa County, Arizona from 2021 to 2025 who became a prominent conservative defender of election integrity, repeatedly debunking [[Stop the Steal]] claims about the county's 2020 and 2022 results. He won a defamation suit against 2022 gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, lost the 2024 GOP primary to election-skeptic [[Justin Heap]], and afterward took a teaching position at Harvard Law. In January 2022 Richer helped present [[Maricopa County]]'s point-by-point rebuttal of the [[Cyber Ninjas]] report from the [[2021 Maricopa County Presidential Ballot Audit]]. County staff found 38 of the report's 75 claims inaccurate, 25 misleading and 11 false.
