# Stanley Woodward
**Status: stub — expand.**
**Stanley Woodward Jr.** has served since November 2025 as **Associate Attorney General** — the third-ranking official at the [[Department of Justice]], supervising the civil, antitrust, civil-rights, environment, and tax litigating components.
Before entering the administration he was a Washington criminal-defense attorney whose client list ran through Trump's own legal exposure, including aides and co-defendants in the classified-documents and January 6 matters. He joined the second term first as Assistant to the President and Senior Counselor before moving to Main Justice — part of the same defense-counsel-to-department pipeline that produced [[Todd Blanche]] and [[D. John Sauer]].
