# Sean Stone Sean Stone (b. 1984) is an American actor, filmmaker, and television host, the son of director Oliver Stone. He hosted *Watching the Hawks* on the Russian state network RT America (2015-2022) and has a long record of conspiracy-adjacent media. [[Dave Troy]] places him among figures linking [[Standing Rock]] to later QAnon-adjacent circles in [[The Octopus]] frame. ## Background A child actor in his father's films (*The Doors*, *JFK*, *Natural Born Killers*), Stone later hosted RT America's *Watching the Hawks* until the network shut down in March 2022 after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He has publicly called 9/11 an "inside job" and converted to Shia Islam in Iran in 2012, taking the name Sean Ali Stone. ## The Octopus claim Troy groups Stone among "operatives connected later to QAnon" who were "involved in covert operations at Standing Rock," citing first-person video accounts. His RT work and conspiracy-media output are well documented; the specific "covert operations" and "operative" characterizations are Troy's and rest on thin sourcing -- they should be read as attributed allegation. As Oliver Stone's son and an RT host, Stone sits at the intersection of conspiracy media and Russian state media that Troy ties to the [[Rosneft]]/[[Gazprom]] oil thread. ## Epistemic status Stone's biography and RT role are documented; the Standing Rock "covert operations" claim is Troy's interpretation and is flagged as such. ## See also - [[The Octopus]] - [[Standing Rock]] - [[Dave Troy]]
