# Sean McCann
Democratic nominee in Michigan's 4th Congressional District for 2026. A Michigan state senator representing the 19th district since 2019, McCann previously served in the state House and on the Kalamazoo City Commission.
He won the August 4, 2026 Democratic primary with roughly 67% over Diop Harris, a former legislative correspondent to Sen. Sherrod Brown, and faces Republican incumbent [[Bill Huizenga]] in November. McCann was the institutional favorite throughout: he carried endorsements from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, the DCCC's Red to Blue program, and most of the state's major labor organizations, and he had raised $1.59M by March 31, 2026 against Harris's $95,000.
