# Samuel P. Bush
Samuel Prescott Bush (1863–1948) was an American steel-industry executive and the **patriarch of the [[Bush Family]]** on the Bush side. A railroad apprentice who rose to become president of **[[Buckeye Steel Castings]]** in Columbus, Ohio — a major supplier of railcar parts with ties to the Rockefeller and Harriman networks — he co-founded what became the **U.S. Chamber of Commerce** and advised the Hoover administration on wartime industrial mobilization. His son [[Prescott Bush]] married [[Dorothy Walker Bush]], merging the Bush industrial fortune with the [[George Herbert Walker]] banking fortune and launching the political dynasty.
> Stub — expand with Buckeye Steel tenure, Chamber of Commerce founding, and WWI industrial-board role.
