# Robert Santos The 26th Director of the U.S. Census Bureau, and the last Senate-confirmed holder of that seat. A statistician and survey methodologist by training, he was confirmed by the Senate on 4 November 2021 and sworn in on 5 January 2022 for the five-year term running to 31 December 2026 under 13 U.S.C. § 21(b). He resigned in February 2025, roughly four years short of the end of his term.
