# Nan Goldin **Nan Goldin** (born 1953, Washington, D.C.) is an American photographer. After recovering from an [[OxyContin]] addiction, she founded P.A.I.N. (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now) in 2017. The group staged protests at museums that carried the [[Sackler Family]] name, including the Met (March 2018), the Guggenheim (February 2019) and the Louvre (July 2019), and helped drive the de-naming wave against [[Purdue Pharma]]'s owners. Her campaign is the subject of Laura Poitras's documentary *All the Beauty and the Bloodshed* (2022), which won the Golden Lion at Venice. ## See Also - [[Sackler Family]] · [[Theresa Sackler]] · [[Purdue Pharma]] · [[Opioid Crisis Timeline]]
