# Louis de Broglie
French physicist whose 1924 doctoral thesis proposed that matter has wavelength — the hypothesis that made Wave-Particle Duality symmetric and directly prompted the Schrodinger Equation. Confirmed by electron diffraction in 1927. Nobel Prize in Physics, 1929.
De Broglie also originated the pilot-wave approach later completed by [[David Bohm]], then abandoned it after a poor reception at the 1927 Solvay Conference. See Pilot-Wave Theory.
