# Linda Sánchez Long-serving California Democrat who has represented the Los Angeles County area in the U.S. House since 2003, most recently from the 38th District. After California voters approved [[Proposition 50 (California)]] in November 2025 and the congressional map was redrawn, Sánchez chose to run in the reconfigured 41st District — which contains roughly half of her former constituency and which the new lines converted from a Trump-won Republican seat into a Democratic one — leaving CA-38 open. She advanced from the June 2, 2026 top-two primary alongside Republican [[Mitch Clemmons]] and is favored in November. Her move is one of the clearest illustrations of how Proposition 50 reshuffled incumbents rather than simply adding seats: [[Ken Calvert]], the previous CA-41 incumbent, relocated to CA-40 to run against fellow Republican [[Young Kim]], while Sánchez moved in behind him. > [!info] Stub > Minimum-viable page created to support the CA-41 race file.
