# Kevin Lunday **Status: stub — expand.** Adm. **Kevin E. Lunday** is the 28th **Commandant of the [[United States Coast Guard]]**, formally installed January 15, 2026 after roughly a year as acting commandant — a tenure that began when the administration fired Adm. Linda Fagan, the first woman to lead a U.S. armed service, in its opening hours in January 2025. A career cyber and legal officer, he leads the only military service outside the Department of Defense during its "Force Design 2028" restructuring and its deepening role in migrant interdiction. ## See also - [[United States Coast Guard]] · [[Department of Homeland Security]] · [[DHS Component Tree]] - [[Armed Forces Hub]]
