# Karim Khan
**Karim Khan** is the British barrister who served as Prosecutor of the [[International Criminal Court]] from June 2021 and sought the arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant in May 2024. He was the first person designated under [[Executive Order 14203]], on February 13, 2025 — one week after the order was signed — and is carried in the vault's ICC-sanctions tranche table as its opening entry. The vault's EO page refers to him as the former Prosecutor as of August 2026.
His designation is the clearest instance in the [[Sanctions Designation Pipeline]] of an emergency declared against a court: the blocking criteria reach ICC officials and "those who assist" its investigations of the United States or its allies, and the December 2025 designation of two judges three days after an adverse ruling shows the program attaching a personal financial cost to a judicial act.
This is a stub — expand with the circumstances of his departure from the prosecutor's office, the delisting posture, and the S.D.N.Y. challenge filed August 11, 2026.
