# Kari Lake Kari Lake is an Arizona [[Republican Party]] politician and former television news anchor who became a leading figure in the [[Election Denialism]] movement after refusing to concede her 2022 gubernatorial loss. A close ally of [[Donald Trump]], she embraced the [[MAGA]] brand and made election fraud claims central to her political identity. Lake ran for the U.S. Senate in the [[2024 Presidential Election]] cycle but lost to Democrat [[Ruben Gallego]]. Her defeats underscored the electoral limits of running on election denial as a core platform, even in a swing state. Before entering politics she spent decades as a [[Fox News]]-style local anchor in Phoenix.
