# Judith Miller
Judith Miller (born 1948) is a former [[New York Times]] reporter whose front-page stories on Iraqi [[Weapons of Mass Destruction]] helped launder the case for the [[Iraq War]] into the most trusted real estate in American journalism.
## Stenography to Power
Miller's reporting leaned heavily on anonymous administration officials and on defectors supplied by [[Ahmed Chalabi]]'s exile network — sources later exposed as fabricators. Her September 2002 "aluminum tubes" story was cited by administration officials on the Sunday shows the same day, a closed loop the vault treats as a textbook instance of [[Manufactured Consent]]. The Times later published an extraordinary editors' note disowning the coverage. Miller is a standing reminder that the [[Iraq WMD Intelligence Failure]] was also a press failure.
