# John Pritzker **Stub.** **John A. Pritzker** (b. 1953) is a San Francisco hotelier and investor, the son of Hyatt co-founder Jay Pritzker and the founder (2005) of the hospitality investment firm Geolo Capital. He has given nearly $60M to UCSF. He is a **first cousin** of Illinois Governor [[J.B. Pritzker]]: their fathers, Jay and Donald, were brothers. He is a different person from the governor. ## San Francisco politics - **2026.** Gave **$1,000,000** to Mayor [[Daniel Lurie]]'s charter-reform committee, "Clean Up City Hall," now "Mayor Lurie's Yes on D, E & F Committee." Mission Local, the SF Standard and SF Ethics Commission filings all report it. See [[San Francisco Charter Reform]]. - Mission Local lists him among the top donors (at least $1M) to the November 2026 San Francisco races. > [!note] Identity match > News coverage names the donor as "John Pritzker," a "hotelier" and "heir to the Hyatt hotel chain," but never uses the middle initial. Matching him to John A. Pritzker of Geolo Capital is the vault's inference. It is very likely correct but has not been confirmed from a filing address. ## See Also - [[San Francisco Charter Reform]] · [[Daniel Lurie]] · [[J.B. Pritzker]]
