Hilary Greaves is a British philosopher and director of the Global Priorities Institute (GPI) at the University of Oxford, a research center funded by [[Open Philanthropy]] and dedicated to the academic study of how to do the most good. Her work on population ethics, moral uncertainty, and the value of the long-term future provides much of the philosophical infrastructure for the [[Longtermism]] movement within [[Effective Altruism]]. GPI represents the academicization of EA's core questions about resource allocation and [[Existential Risk]].
