# George S. Patton III > [!note] Stub — fill out Army general described by Dave Troy as a board member of [[Western Goals]] and a first cousin of Rep. [[Larry McDonald]] (whose middle name was Patton). > [!warning] Genealogy to verify > Patton naming is tangled: the WWII general was George S. Patton Jr. and his son the Vietnam-era major general is often styled George Patton IV. Confirm exactly which Patton sat on the Western Goals board and the precise family relationship to McDonald before promoting from stub.
