# Eugene Vindman **Eugene Vindman** is a freshman Democratic U.S. Representative from Virginia (VA-07, central Virginia / Fredericksburg–Prince William), the twin brother of [[Alexander Vindman]] and, like him, a figure in the fallout from Trump's first impeachment. He won the open seat in 2024 (~2.7 points) after [[Abigail Spanberger]] left to run for governor. After Virginia's mid-decade redistricting map was struck down by the state Supreme Court in 2026, his Democratic primary rivals dropped out and he secured renomination uncontested ahead of the August 4, 2026 primary; the seat is rated Lean Democratic. See [[VA-07-2026]] for full race context. ## Related - [[VA-07-2026]] - [[Alexander Vindman]] - [[Abigail Spanberger]]
