# Erwin Schrodinger Austrian physicist who published the Schrodinger Equation in 1926, giving [[Quantum Mechanics]] its wave formulation. Nobel Prize in Physics, 1933, shared with [[Paul Dirac]]. Schrodinger rejected the probabilistic reading of his own equation and devised Schrodingers Cat as an argument against it — a reductio now almost universally quoted as though it were an illustration of quantum wonder. He left Austria after the Anschluss and spent most of his later career in Dublin, where his 1944 book *What Is Life?* influenced the founding generation of molecular biology.
