# Marc Andreessen Political Donations Cycle-by-cycle ledger of [[Marc Andreessen]]'s political giving — concentrated overwhelmingly in **crypto** vehicles. The running story is in [[Marc Andreessen News Log]]; the canonical [[Marc Andreessen]] page carries the summary. > Figures are disclosed contributions as reported (FEC, OpenSecrets) plus firm-level lobbying. The tell: Andreessen's crypto giving dwarfs his direct MAGA giving by ~6x — the money follows the a16z portfolio, not just the party. ## The arc in one line Bipartisan tech donor → July 2024 Trump endorsement (with [[Ben Horowitz]]) → crypto-PAC mega-funder + DOGE talent architect. The dollars track the deregulatory agenda mapped in [[Marc Andreessen Ideology]] and benefit the portfolio in [[Marc Andreessen Holdings]]. ## The ledger | Cycle | Recipient | Amount | Note | |---|---|---|---| | 2024 | Trump endorsement (with [[Ben Horowitz]]) | — | Citing crypto + AI policy | | 2024–25 | [[Fairshake]] + affiliated crypto PACs | **$33.5M** | The dominant spend; a16z among the top-3 crypto-PAC funders | | H1 2025 | [[MAGA Inc.]] super PAC | $3M | ~1/6 of his crypto giving | | 2025 | a16z federal lobbying | $1.49M | Firm-level | ## The pattern — money follows the portfolio The structural read (detailed on the canonical page and in [[Defense Tech Conflicts of Interest]]): 1. **Crypto over party.** $33.5M into crypto PACs vs. $3M into MAGA Inc. — Andreessen is a **crypto** donor first, a Republican donor second. [[Fairshake]] spending correlated with favorable outcomes for a16z's crypto book. 2. **Donation → recruitment → regulation.** Beyond checks, Andreessen became a DOGE "unpaid intern" vetting administration hires — influence over who staffs the agencies that regulate his portfolio (the [[Elon Musk]]-style informal-power arrangement without disclosure). 3. **Both sides of the ledger.** a16z funds both the weapons ([[American Dynamism]]) and the financial rails (crypto fund), while its founder recruits the people who regulate both. ## See Also - [[Marc Andreessen]] — canonical biography - [[Crypto-Political Machine]] · [[Crypto Super PACs]] · [[Fairshake]] - [[Marc Andreessen Holdings]] — the portfolio the giving serves - [[David Sacks Political Donations]] — the matched crypto-Czar ledger - [[Marc Andreessen Dossier]]
