# David Friedberg Former Google executive, founder of The Climate Corporation (sold to Monsanto for ~$1B), and co-host of the [[All-In Podcast]]. Now runs The Production Board, a venture studio focused on food, agriculture, and biotech. ## The Production Board Friedberg's venture studio, backed by Alphabet/[[Larry Page]], manages $300M+ and builds companies focused on agriculture, food systems, biomanufacturing, and life sciences. Portfolio includes Pattern Ag (precision farming), Ohalo Genetics (gene-edited crops), Culture Biosciences (biomanufacturing), Triplebar Bio, and Supergut. While not defense-focused, these domains intersect directly with DoD biosurveillance programs, food supply chain security, and synthetic biology — all areas of growing Pentagon interest. ## Government Role: PCAST (March 2026) Appointed to the **President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology** in March 2026. PCAST is co-chaired by his All-In co-host [[David Sacks]] and [[Michael Kratsios]] (OSTP Director, ex-[[Thiel Capital]]). This means **two of the four All-In hosts now hold formal government advisory roles** shaping science and technology policy. Critics noted the PCAST appointments were heavy on tech industry executives and light on academic scientists, with The Register describing the panel as populated by "tech bros." ## Network Position Friedberg is the science/deep-tech node of the All-In network. While his portfolio is less directly defense-adjacent than Sacks' or Thiel's, his investments in food systems, agricultural technology, and biotech overlap with national security interests around food supply chain resilience. His PCAST seat gives him a direct voice in technology policy discussions that affect the entire defense tech ecosystem. ## "Winning the AI Race" Summit (July 2025) Friedberg co-moderated the All-In/Hill & Valley Forum summit in Washington DC where Trump delivered his first major AI address. Panelists included [[Palantir]]'s CTO and [[Hadrian]]'s CEO.
