# Daniel Berulis
**Daniel Berulis** is a former IT staffer at the [[NLRB]] (National Labor Relations Board), the agency that polices union elections and unfair labor practices. On April 15, 2025, his whistleblower disclosure to the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee, [[Tom Cotton]] and [[Mark Warner]], was made public. It said [[DOGE]] staff had been given "extraordinarily sweeping access" to the board's systems; that logging meant to record their activity appeared to have been switched off; that about 10 gigabytes of data, which could include union organizing records and confidential case files, then left the network; and that login attempts from a Russian IP address followed. The board said there had been no breach.
Before he went public, a threatening note with drone photos of him walking in his neighborhood was taped to his door, according to his lawyer, Andrew Bakaj of [[Whistleblower Aid]]. In April 2026 he sued [[Elon Musk]] for defamation. The suit says that on April 19, 2025, Musk reposted a claim that Berulis had made a "deliberately false whistleblower claim," and that the next day Berulis found his car's brake lines had been cut.
