# Dan Backer
Conservative campaign-finance attorney who founded the law firm DB Capitol Strategies and serves as president of the [[Coolidge Reagan Foundation]]. Backer has been treasurer or counsel to dozens of right-wing PACs and was a lead attorney behind [[McCutcheon v. FEC]] (2014), the Supreme Court case that struck down aggregate limits on federal campaign contributions. In the vault as a practitioner of conservative campaign-finance "lawfare" — using complaints and litigation as political weapons against Democratic candidates and organizations.
