# Cleo Fields
U.S. Representative from Louisiana (D). Elected in 2024 from the second majority-Black district that Louisiana created to comply with Section 2 of the [[Voting Rights Act of 1965]] — the district at issue in [[Louisiana v. Callais]].
After the Supreme Court struck that map down on April 29, 2026, the Louisiana legislature enacted a replacement in May 2026 dismantling the district. Fields previously represented Louisiana in the U.S. House in the 1990s, in a seat likewise created and then dismantled after a racial-gerrymandering ruling.
