# Carolina Amesty
**Carolina Amesty** (b. 1994) is a former Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 45 from November 2022 to November 2024. Her family runs Central Christian University, a small institution owned and operated by her father, where she held administrative roles.
In **January 2025** the SBA Office of Inspector General charged her with embezzling roughly **$122,000** through fraudulent COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications tied to the Carolina Amesty Foundation Inc. and Dinocar Auto Sales LLC. The complaint described fifteen loan applications, seven of them failed attempts, with misrepresentations about revenue, employee counts, and incorporation status; entities associated with her had received over $500,000 in loans in total.
On **August 6, 2025**, the U.S. Attorney moved to dismiss the federal charges. Her defense lawyer was **[[Brad Bondi]]**, brother of Attorney General [[Pam Bondi]] — and the dismissal became one of four client outcomes named in the **March 11, 2026** letter from Sen. [[Adam Schiff]] and Rep. Dave Min asking the Justice Department's Inspector General to examine whether the Attorney General properly recused herself from her brother's matters.
A separate Florida state case — four third-degree felony counts from **August 2024** over notarizing a forged document — was dropped in December 2024 after she completed financial-crimes and financial-literacy coursework plus 30 hours of community service.
