# Bayeslord
Pseudonymous co-founder of [[Effective Accelerationism]] (e/acc), the techno-optimist movement that argues unrestricted AI development is a moral imperative and that slowing it down is the true existential risk. Bayeslord co-originated the movement alongside [[Guillaume Verdon]] (the "Beff Jezos" persona) and is generally credited as the quieter, more philosophically-framed half of the founding pair.
## Identity
Unlike Verdon — unmasked by *Forbes* in December 2023 — **Bayeslord has never been publicly deanonymized** and operates only under the pseudonym (@bayeslord on X). The earliest known e/acc reference is a **May 2022** newsletter authored by four pseudonymous writers: @BasedBeffJezos (Verdon), @bayeslord, @zestular, and @creatine_cycle; of these, Beff Jezos and Bayeslord are the two usually named as the movement's co-founders.
In media appearances — including Erik Torenberg's *Upstream* podcast and a debate on AI safety with co-founder Beff Jezos and Nathan Labenz — Bayeslord has maintained anonymity while articulating the e/acc philosophy, and has been described as comparatively humble and principled relative to the louder Beff Jezos persona.
## Relation to e/acc
Bayeslord is a co-author of the foundational e/acc writings, not a follower of the movement. Where Verdon became the public showman of accelerationism, Bayeslord supplied more of the movement's earnest theorizing while staying behind the pseudonym. See [[Effective Accelerationism]] for the ideology itself.
