# Angela McArdle
**Angela McArdle** chaired the [[Libertarian Party]] during the Mises Caucus era, having risen through the internal faction that took control of the party in 2022 and pushed it toward alliance with the paleolibertarian and populist right rather than toward independent electoral competition.
Her most consequential act was brokering [[Donald Trump]]'s appearance at the [[2024 Libertarian National Convention]] in May 2024 — an unprecedented invitation to a major-party nominee, defended internally on the grounds that libertarian votes could be traded for concrete commitments. The commitment she named was clemency for [[Ross Ulbricht]], which Trump pledged on stage and delivered as a full pardon in January 2025.
