# Andrey Averyanov **Andrey Averyanov** is a [[GRU]] general who commanded [[Unit 29155]] — the military-intelligence sabotage and assassination unit linked to the 2014 Vrbetice ammunition-depot explosions in the Czech Republic, for which Czech police placed him on a wanted list in 2024. After the [[Wagner Group Mutiny]], the Wall Street Journal reported that he and Deputy Defence Minister [[Yunus-Bek Yevkurov]] toured Wagner's client states in Africa to take over its operations for the Russian state. He is widely believed to command [[Africa Corps]], though this has not been officially confirmed.
