# Andrew Bailey
**Status: stub — expand.**
**Andrew Bailey** is a **co-Deputy Director of the [[FBI]]**, installed in August 2025 alongside [[Dan Bongino]] in an unusual dual-deputy arrangement. He came directly from elected office as **Attorney General of Missouri** (2023–2025), where he was among the most aggressive of the Republican state AGs in filing suits against the Biden administration and in defending the state's abortion ban — an unusual résumé for the Bureau's number-two operational post, which has historically gone to career agents.
After Bongino's departure in January 2026, Bailey remained as one of two co-deputies, sharing the role with career counterterrorism official [[Christopher Raia]].
