# Andrew Anglin
Founder and editor of The [[Daily Stormer]], the most prominent neo-Nazi website in the United States, and one of the most extensively deplatformed individuals in the history of the internet. Anglin created the Daily Stormer in 2013 as a response to Obama's reelection, modeled explicitly on Der Stürmer — the Nazi propaganda newspaper. The site pioneered the weaponization of ironic internet aesthetics (memes, humor, chan culture) for white nationalist organizing and harassment campaigns.
## The Daily Stormer
The Daily Stormer combines hardcore neo-Nazi ideology with the aesthetic language of 4chan — irony, memes, deliberately provocative trolling — in a deliberate attempt to make white nationalism appealing to young men already immersed in chan culture. The "it's just a joke" shield provides plausible deniability while normalizing genocidal ideology.
The site has been deplatformed from virtually every major internet infrastructure provider: GoDaddy, Google Domains, Cloudflare (briefly), and dozens of hosting services have removed it. It operates through a rotating series of dark-web and obscure hosting arrangements.
## Targeted Harassment Campaigns
The Daily Stormer has organized multiple high-profile harassment campaigns:
- Targeting the family of Heather Heyer (killed at Charlottesville in 2017)
- Targeting Montana Jewish community members
- Coordinating "troll storms" against journalists and public figures
These campaigns resulted in substantial legal liability. Anglin has faced millions of dollars in default judgments in cases he has not appeared to defend.
## Charlottesville Connection
The Daily Stormer was a primary organizing hub for the "[[Unite the Right]]" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2017, which resulted in the murder of Heather Heyer by a car-ramming attack by a white nationalist. The rally brought together various white nationalist factions that Anglin's site had helped organize and radicalize online.
## Ideological Position
Anglin occupies the explicit neo-Nazi extreme of the right-wing spectrum — far more openly genocidal than figures like [[Jared Taylor]] ([[American Renaissance]]) who use "race realism" as a euphemism. However, Anglin and Taylor represent two poles of the same white nationalist movement, with shared readers, shared enemies (diversity, immigration, Jewish influence in their framing), and shared political goals.
## Connection to the KB
Anglin represents the most extreme public-facing end of the radicalization pipeline that runs through [[4chan]] and [[8chan-8kun]] into the broader political ecosystem mapped in this KB. The intellectual genealogy from [[Curtis Yarvin]]'s [[Dark Enlightenment]] through chan culture to Daily Stormer readers to Charlottesville organizers is one of the most direct connections between Silicon Valley-adjacent ideology and street-level white nationalist violence.
