# Alex Witkoff
**Alex Witkoff** (b. c. 1992) is chief executive of [[The Witkoff Group]], the family real-estate firm, and a co-founder of the Trump-family crypto venture [[World Liberty Financial]]. He is the son of [[Steve Witkoff]], Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, and the brother of [[Zach Witkoff]]. A Wharton graduate, he was co-CEO with his father and took sole control when Steve Witkoff entered government in 2025. That handoff is the ethics "workaround" that kept the family business in the family while the patriarch negotiated for the United States.
## The three businesses
- **The Witkoff Group.** The firm moved its headquarters to Miami's Design District. Its projects include the Shore Club in Miami Beach, One High Line in Manhattan and the Shell Bay golf development in Hallandale Beach.
- **[[World Liberty Financial]].** He co-founded it in 2024 with Zach Witkoff, [[Zak Folkman]], [[Chase Herro]] and the Trump family. The Wall Street Journal reported in February 2026 that an Abu Dhabi vehicle tied to [[Tahnoon bin Zayed]] had secretly bought 49% of the venture for $500 million, four days before Trump's inauguration. Of the $250 million paid up front, about $31 million went to entities tied to the Witkoff family, the Journal reported (see [[World Liberty Financial UAE Sale]]).
- **[[Executive Branch Club]].** He co-owns the Georgetown members' club with his brother, [[Donald Trump Jr.]], and [[1789 Capital]]'s [[Omeed Malik]] and [[Chris Buskirk]]. Founding memberships ran up to $500,000.
## The Qatar pitch
The New York Times reported in September 2025 that Alex Witkoff had pitched the Qatar Investment Authority, along with Emirati and Kuwaiti sovereign funds, on a roughly $4 billion real-estate credit fund. This happened while his father was negotiating Gaza ceasefire and hostage terms in which Qatar was a central mediator. QIA confirmed the approach and declined to invest. The White House called the story "another bogus smear." The Witkoff Group said the talks "never went beyond preliminary discussions" and that the fund was dropped for economic reasons.
## Why he matters
Alex Witkoff is the operational face of the Witkoff conflict structure. While his father negotiates U.S. policy with Gulf governments, the family firm solicits capital from those same governments' funds, and the family crypto venture takes Gulf royal money. It is the same father-to-son compliance handoff [[Howard Lutnick]] used at Cantor Fitzgerald, and the same Gulf-capital channel as [[Jared Kushner]]'s [[Affinity Partners]].
