# Adam Schwarze Former Navy SEAL and Marine who won the Republican Party of Minnesota's endorsement for U.S. Senate at the May 2026 state convention in Duluth, then lost the August 11, 2026 primary to [[Michele Tafoya]]. His defeat — the endorsed candidate losing to a better-funded celebrity outsider — is a data point in the ongoing erosion of state-party endorsements as a gatekeeping mechanism. See [[MN-Sen-2026]].
