# Abdul Hamid Dbeibah
**Abdul Hamid Dbeibah** (born about 1959, Misrata) is prime minister of [[Libya]]'s UN-recognized Government of National Unity in Tripoli. A businessman who ran a state construction firm under [[Muammar Gaddafi]], he was chosen through a UN-run dialogue in February 2021 and took office in March 2021 with a mandate to hold elections that December. The elections collapsed, and he refused to yield when the eastern parliament named a rival prime minister in February 2022. He also holds the defence portfolio. His nephew Ibrahim Dbeibah is his chief negotiator in the 2025–2026 US mediation run by [[Massad Boulos]], whose reported terms would keep Dbeibah as prime minister of a unified government alongside [[Khalifa Haftar]]'s son Saddam.
