# VIGINUM
VIGINUM is the French government's agency for detecting foreign digital interference. Its full name translates as the "service for vigilance and protection against foreign digital interference." It was created by decree on July 13, 2021 and sits within the SGDSN, the prime minister's secretariat for defense and national security. It is a civilian agency, not a military one. Its public reports are among the few government documents that name Russian influence operations and the people behind them in operational detail.
