# Trust for the National Mall
Congressionally recognized nonprofit partner of the [[National Park Service]] for the National Mall. Under an agreement with the White House and NPS (obtained by [[Public Citizen]] via FOIA, April 2026), it serves as the donation vehicle for the [[White House Ballroom Project]] — authorized to keep **2.5% of the first $200M** in private cash donations and **2% of the next $200M** as an administrative fee. A July 2026 viral claim that this fee went to Trump personally was debunked by Snopes (July 15, 2026); the fee goes to the Trust. [[Elizabeth Warren]] and Senate Democrats have pressed the Trust over anonymous-donor and quid-pro-quo risk in the ballroom fundraising.
