# The America Project **The America Project** is a Sarasota, Florida 501(c)(4) run by former Overstock.com CEO [[Patrick Byrne]]. It was the largest funder of the [[2021 Maricopa County Presidential Ballot Audit]]: more than **$3.2 million**, over half of the roughly $5.7 million that private groups disclosed giving. It ran the "Fund the Audit" campaign, and profits from *The Deep Rig*, the 2021 film built around Byrne's stolen-election thesis, went to it. As a 501(c)(4), it does not have to disclose its own donors, so the individuals who actually paid for most of the Arizona review are not public. See [[Cyber Ninjas]] for the full funder table.
