# Russian Direct Investment Fund Russia's sovereign wealth fund, created in 2011 and run since then by [[Kirill Dmitriev]]. It co-invests with foreign partners, and has been Moscow's main vehicle for courting Western and Gulf capital. The Treasury put debt and equity restrictions on its predecessor entity in 2015 and sanctioned the fund and Dmitriev in February 2022, calling RDIF "widely considered a slush fund for President Vladimir Putin."
